Oleic Acid: A Mast Cell Degranulator?

My doctor suggested I try Crystal Energy.

Active Ingredients:  Silica, Potassium Carbonate, Magnesium Carbonate, Oleic Acid.

Inactive Ingredients:  Purified Water.

Seems innocent enough.  But, when you’re hypersensitive, it’s foolish to make any assumptions.  Always check thoroughly  before you try a product.  This is a lesson I have learned at least a million times now, and clearly was slated to learn once again.

I took 20 drops of Crystal Energy in 20 ounces of water (2 glasses) over a 30 minute period.

Reactions:  Mega Sneezing, Runny Nose, Pain Sensations on top of Thighs, Mild Headache in the Forehead Area

My system wasn’t at baseline low histamine, but this seemed like a clear, direct response occurring in less than a few hours.

I scanned the internet and found these two articles that describe Oleic Acid as a mast cell degranulator.

Ah-ha!

Oleic acid is a fatty acid that occurs naturally in many animal and vegetable oils and fats.   The triglycerides of oleic acid occur in olive oil, pecan oil, canola oil, peanut oil, mac nut oil, high-oleic sunflower oil, grapeseed oil, sea buckthorn oil, and sesame oil.

Perhaps this is one reason why most nuts are either high or very high in amines or are considered histamine liberators.
